The Southside Times

The Southside Times is a weekly newspaper which began publishing in 1928. The newspaper delivers news and sports to Beech Grove, Greenwood, Southport, Center Grove, and Franklin and White River Townships. Published every Thursday, 21,500 copies are delivered to the greater south side either to newsstands or through home delivery. Places the paper is delivered to include University of Indianapolis and Greenwood Park Mall, as well as several Marsh and Kroger grocery stores and McDonald's restaurants. Former editors-in-chief include Elaine Whitesides, Sherri Coner, Dick Isenhour and Paul Fedorchak. The Southside Times sells to many advertisers, allowing the paper to be available at no cost. Senior Pages are also published every three months, highlighting trends, articles, and events for senior citizens. Current employees include editor-in-chief Nicole Davis, editor Eric Ellis, graphic designer Carey Germana, digital consultant Andrew Angle, and office salesperson Brian Ruckle. As of November 2012, the paper relocated from its longtime Beech Grove location in favor of a house on the Southside of Indy on US 31. The paper also switched to a tabloid format instead of the traditional broadsheet format in January 2013.
